Increase Web Traffic On Your Site. Do these companies really work?

Out of pure interest and research for this article I subscribed to a company who promised good UK traffic to Your-Ads.co.uk

I have wondered if these companies are really worth the monthly cost of around £20 - £80 depending on the amount of visitors you want directed to your site. I opted for the 10,000 visits per month to your-ads.co.uk and waited for the results. To my amazement the visits did increase within a couple of days from opening an account with my chosen company. I was expecting just a few as having read some articles on the web some people have experienced some difficulty with getting the quantity and quality promised.

As the visits flooded in every day I was expecting an increased site usage, more free adverts placed, more clicks on the sponsored links and inceased ranking within Google and Alexa Unfortunately none of the expectations came with the increased traffic! If anything my ranking dropped! This made me ask the question does the mighty power of Google web bots know when you are having "fake" visits to your site so decreases you website popularity? These visits seemed to be around the same time everyday so could be easily detected.

Now I ask the question, are these "fake" site visits really worth the additional cost every month for what seems to be no extra gain? I would say no they are not.

I think the good old fashioned hard work in pushing your site with others, good programming, good design and excellent content is the only way for any site to do well online. If anything the money used for increased traffic could better go towards employing a SEO professional to help get your site up the rankings.

So my next investigation is going to be in testing these sites that promise excellent SEO results and increased rankings. I'll let you know how I get on in my next blog entry.
